Mississauga – Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance in their investigation into a tragic collision involving a vehicle and a young pedestrian.
On Friday December 2, 2016 at approximately 8:24 pm, a fifteen year old female and a male friend were attempting to cross Britannia Road at the intersection of Glen Erin Drive, in the City of Mississauga. At the same time a male driver was operating a silver Honda CRV eastbound on Britannia Road. The male friend reached the median of the intersection however the fifteen year old female was struck by the vehicle. Tragically, she suffered fatal injuries from this collision and life-saving procedures at the scene and later in hospital were not successful.
The victim has been identified as,
Madeleine PETRIELLI, 15 year old female from Mississauga.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperative with the investigation. The investigation is still ongoing however no charges have been laid at this time.

Mississauga – Officers from the 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau are investigating an attempt abduction which occurred in Mississauga.
On Saturday, November 7, 2015, at 1:45 a.m., a 22 year-old female was grabbed by an unknown male while walking in the area of Fallingbrook Drive and Windsor Hill Boulevard, Mississauga. The suspect began pulling and dragging the victim toward a vehicle which was parked at the intersection. The victim screamed, at which point the suspect released her. The suspect fled to his vehicle and proceeded eastbound on Windsor Hill Boulevard.
The incident was reported to police on Sunday, November 8, 2015. Investigators have recovered video surveillance in the area that captured the incident and are in the process of making it available for public viewing.
The suspect is described as male, 22 to 29 years of age, possibly Middle Eastern descent with an olive complexion, 5’10” tall with an average build, square shaped face and dark hair. He was wearing a dark grey hoodie and lighter grey track pants. The vehicle is described as white, unknown make or model, but appeared to be in good condition.

Police would also like to take this opportunity to remind members of the public to always be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious persons or activity. If walking in the evening hours, stay in well-lit areas, and if possible, walk with a partner.
