Meadowvale Community Centre and Library Welcomes Back Residents as it Officially Reopens to the Public

Residents are invited back to Meadowvale Community Centre and Library to celebrate the building’s reopening. Residents now have convenient access to both recreational and library services in a more efficient and cost-effective space. Throughout the day there will be a variety of programs, activities and demonstrations for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Reading Terrace – Yoga Demos – (10 to 10:45 a.m.)

Library Makerspace – Tech Shop – (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

Library Program Room 1 – Lego Club (10 to 11 a.m.)

Weight Room – Body Testing, Blood Pressure & Body Fat Testing (noon to 3 p.m.)

Outdoor Paths – Nordic Pole Walking/Outdoor Exercise Station (10 to 10:45 a.m.)

11 a.m.

Backyard patio – Aboriginal Blessing

11:15 a.m.

Auditorium (lower level) – Official Ceremony

11:40 a.m.

Outdoor – Public Art Photo Op

Outdoor – Public Art Artists – RAW Design onsite to answer questions about the public art piece

Outdoor Pavilion – Free BBQ (11:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.)

Gymnasium A – Sport Ball [18 mos to 3 yrs] (11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.)

Library Children’s Area – Ontario Early Years “Move & Groove”, a story every 15 minutes (Noon to 3 p.m.)

Outdoor Area – Pumpkin Patch (12:30 to 2:30 p.m.)

Auditorium Teaching Kitchen – Cookie Decorating (12:30 to 2:30 p.m.)

Main & Therapy Pools – Fun Swim (1:35 to 2:55 p.m.)

Fitness Studio – Zumba Gold Demonstrations (1:30 to 2:15 p.m.)

Outdoor Courts – Ball Tourney TAG, DAM, YAC Partnership (1 to 3 p.m.)

Gymnasium A – Raptors 905 Basketball Demos and Family Basketball (1 to 3 p.m.)

Gymnasium B – Archery Try-It [limited space, sign up required] (1 to 2 p.m.)

2 p.m.

Youth/Senior Room – Family Table Tennis (2 to 3 p.m.)

Fitness Studio – Therapeutic Yoga Demonstrations (2:30 to 3:15 p.m.)

Following the official ceremony, Ward 9 Councillor Pat Saito will be hosting a free BBQ with light refreshments, popcorn and inflatables. She will also have free commemorative water bottles for the first 1,000 visitors.
